Y & P's COVID-19 assistance campaign
Hello Everyone!
I'm appealing to all of you to help raise money for families who have been dislocated because of this lockdown and live in the slums, under highways and sell things on the street - daily-wagers and their families. Our goal is to be able to raise 2.1 lakh rupees (Rs. 210,000) which will support 75 families for 4 weeks.
The money that you contribute will be used to buy food for them. Each family will be given :
3.5kg of Rice
3.5kg of Atta
1 ltr of edible Oil
250 grams of Tea
1kg of Sugar
1kg of Dhal
Salt and masala
These items put together will cost only 700 rupees.
This is a fund-raiser for a NGO called Vibha, who will in turn send the money to DSS (Door Step School, Mumbai) who will buy the needful and distribute the same through their volunteer and partner network. The area designated for this campaign is the 75 families staying in the railway yard on platform of Wadi Bandar near P D'Mello road. (Wadi Bunder Coaching YardMalet Bandar Rd, Wadi Bandar, Umerkhadi, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400009)
Most of them work in the fishing industry as cleaners. These people may not get government relief because they are not migrant workers, do not have ID cards like ration or Aadhar card and are considered local. They don't have enough even for food let alone money for shelter.
thank you for contributing!
