Fundraising for Vibha Striders 2021
I am training with Vibha to raise funds to support education of underprivileged children.
We run 4 times a week, early in the morning.
- Nov 14th: 13.1 mile! : Big day. Well rested and energized for the race. Weather was pleasant and atmosphere at the location was great. Ran first 4 mile faster than my usual pace (something I wanted to avoid) and then gradually slowed down every mile afterwards. I used Gu gel at 5 mile and 10 mile marker. Looking back, I should have taken it at 4 mile intervals. Last two miles were very slow. Feeling amazing and tired at the same time after the race.
- Nov 10th: 2 mile run : Tried to run at faster pace.
- Nov 9th:4 mile run : Maintained pace in this effortless run
- Nov 6th: 6 mile run : Skipped. Diwali Celebration!
- Nov 4th :4 mile run/walk : Completed at a slow pace.
- Nov 2nd : 3 mile walk : Turned this run into a 3 mile walk!
- Oct 31st : 11 mile run : Finished half-marathon rehearsal :). Tired after the run and took couple of hours of nap in the afternoon.
- Oct 29th : 3 mile run : Getting ready for big run this Sunday!
- Oct 28th : 4 mile run : Skipping one run makes it harder to get ready for next one in the morning.
- Oct 26th : 3 mile run : skipped
- Oct 24th : 5 mile run : Ran while it was beginning to drizzle. Little worried about slippery condition but run was very good. The "Atmospheric River" drenched the area few hours later!
- Oct 22nd : 3 mile run : skipped
- Oct 21st : 4 mile run : Good run.
- Oct 19th : 3 mile run : Now, this is easy peasy!
- Oct 17th : 9 mile run : Longest run so far. Felt comfortable about whole training. I should try to increase speed during next long run.
- Oct 15th : 3 mile run : I'd say this was middle of the pack run. I did not complete this as easily as I had anticipated.
- Oct 14th : 4 mile run : It is getting cold early in the morning.
- Oct 12th : 3 mile run : Very windy and chilly in the morning. Today my left calf is sore.
- Oct 10th : 7 mile run : Completed big milestone, half of the half marathon! Yay!
- Oct 8th : 3 mile run : It was ok. In fact not as bad as I had anticipated after yesterday's run.
- Oct 7th : 4 mile run : I did well, that's what I can say.
- Oct 5th : 3 mile run : OK.
- Oct 3rd : 4 mile run : This was the best run till today. Maintained pace (i.e. my slow pace :) ) and finished strong.
- Oct 1st : 2 mile run : Somehow, I could not increase speed during 2nd mile. I thought I did, but watch did not agree.
- Sept 30th : Skipped
- Sept 28 : 2 mile run : I'm kind of getting used to this running thing.
- Sept 26th : 6 mile run : My legs are tired but I paid attention to my breathing techniques. No more mouth breathing.
- Sept 24th : 2 mile run : Easy but slow
- Sept 21st : 2 mile run : Meh.
- Sept 19th : 5 mile run : I was huffing and puffing half way through the run. Frequently grasping for air. Finished run anyway.
- Sep 17th : 3 mile run : This one was very hard.
- Sept 16th : 4 mile run : Lake Elizabeth was beautiful. Finished the run, but at a slower pace.
- Sept 12th : 3 mile run : OK.
- Sept 10th : 3 mile run : It was ok
- Sept 9th : 2 mile run : This run was somehow difficult.
- Sept 7th : 3 mile run : The best run I had so far.
- Sept 4th : 4 mile run : Listening to Queen helped. Breathing is hard.
- Sept 2nd : 2 mile run : Getting up early in the morning is a challenge.
- Aug 31st : 2 mile run : I can do this!
