Have you ever wondered what would your life be like if you didn’t get a chance to go to school ? Or that, growing up what if your biggest worry on most days was to just get enough to eat for the day?

I, like most of us, who are blessed with regular childhood, rarely thought about these things. Until a few years ago, on one Thanksgiving day, when we were going around expressing what we are thankful for, that I began to think deeply about Education and how access to it has contributed significantly to our wellbeing and success in our lives. 

As Horace Mann rightly put it, "Education is the great equalizer of conditions for mankind”. Therefore, the cause to bring access to Education for all, especially the underprivileged children who have the deck stacked against them, became something that resonated the most to me.

There are about 40 Million children in India that don’t have access to education, healthcare, and opportunities that we take for granted. This year, with the help of Vibha, I am combining my training goal to do my first half marathon on June 2, 2019 with the opportunity to make a positive difference in the life of underprivileged kids.

Vibha Striders 2019 is raising funds to help solve the problem of "Education of children of migrant labor".

Door Step School brings education to the very doorstep of underprivileged migrant workers' children and prevent them from falling out of the formal education system by providing complete support - books, meals, and childcare.
