43,897 schools ! 2,296,139 students !!

This is an excellent example of Public-Private partnership, where the Government of Karnataka is investing more than 90% of the cost - $3,410,852 (Rs.220 Million) - on this project. Sikshana-Vibha need an additional $162,537 (Rs.10,483,696) for knowledge transfer, and monitoring expenses for effective implementation.

About Sikshana

Sikshana, an organization supported by Vibha, aims at improving learning levels in the government primary schools through an innovative model called “Prerana” (Motivation). The main mantra of “Prerana” has been to enable children develop interest in learning through a unique focus on student motivation as a means to deeper student engagement. “Prerana” thus starts with incentive-based motivation which then turns to to helping students find joy in learning via four steps. This model implemented in over 2100 Government primary schools (from Grade 4th to 8th) across Karnataka has aided in holistic improvement of the educational ecosystem It has thus been showcased across Government primary schools in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh also.
