Pradnya and Niket's Fundraiser for Vibha
Fundraising for Vibha India-Ray of Light
Vibha is back with its annual fundraiser, with a target to raise Rs. 30 lakh by 31 March 2021, via the Year End Drive. Your contributions from last year provided much needed Covid relief to CORP India, Samavesh and Door Step School in Mumbai and to Aide et Action, Hyderabad. We also supported balwadi-like classrooms for the children of migrant labor through our partner Aide et Action in Hyderabad.
This year, we want to increase our reach while continuing our impact across India. Vibha enables and empowers ground level NGOs in improving the lives of underprivileged children across India. We have more than 25+ partners across the country that strive to improve the education, health and training needs of underprivileged children. In 2021, we hope to partner more with the local, state and central government agencies to make a long lasting sustainable impact. Towards this end, we are hoping to raise Rs. 30 lakhs through the Ray of Light year end drive.
2020 has been a very unusual year for everyone, especially so for the underprivileged. The organizations that Vibha partners with are helping bridge this gap. Although I was myself unable to volunteer for Vibha this year due to various commitments, I have been following all the activities and project updates. I am happy to see the organization grow in terms of fund raising activities, reach, impact and ambitions.
On a personal note, exactly two decades ago, Niket and I met while volunteering with Vibha during our PhD days in Georgia Tech. We were both active volunteers and helped organize numerous fundraising events like walk/run, cricket matches, concerts etc. Although we are unable to volunteer as much these days, we both strongly believe in the vision of Vibha– to ensure that every underprivileged child attains his or her right to health, education and opportunity.
This year we have set a target of raising 10 lakhs through friends and family, and we will match donations of Rs. 5 lakhs between the two of us. Collectively, our friends and family have helped raise an average of 10 lakhs, including matching donations, per year for the past three years. We hope you will continue to support Vibha in its mission this year as well.
Let’s all help brighten the lives of millions more children.
Thanks and Regards.
-Pradnya and Niket
