Fundraising for ATLANTA DREAM MILE 2023
I got involved with Vibha in 2018, with the Dream Mile in the Bay Area. The warmth and passion of everyone who volunteers with Vibha was what really pulled me in, and has kept me here!
Fundraising for improving public education in India really hits home for me — I was lucky enough to attend private schools for the 5 years I lived in India, but I saw a lot of other kids that weren’t as fortunate. I remember desperately wanting to do something to help them, and once I came back to the US, I took this wonderful opportunity to do that.
Helping improve public education really makes an impact. My grandparents all went to public schools in India, because they couldn’t afford better education, and now, two generations later, I’m amazed at how well they’ve done for themselves, to help us get to where we’re at. Now, sitting in the US, I hope I can do the same for other kids, helping them do better for themselves and their families as well. The Dream Mile (DM) is Vibha’s Flagship Run / Walk Fundraiser event, with an anticipated participation of 5000+ patrons across the world. The Dream Mile originated in 1998 in Atlanta and then quickly became a permanent fixture on the calendars of runners in various cities in USA and India. This year we are proudly celebrating the 25th edition of Dream Mile in Atlanta on September 17th at Collection at Forsyth, 410 Peachtree Pkwy, Cumming, GA
The funds raised through the Dream Mile go towards supporting child development projects towards Education, Vocational Training and Health in India and the USA . In addition it will support local beneficiaries of the Dream Mile host cities like the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, Communities In Schools Chicago, Inspiredu and School on Wheels, Massachusetts. Over the years, the Dream Mile has supported more than 180,000 children.
How You Can Help
1. Donate to our campaign page. No amount is too small (or too big!) to donate. Your contribution goes a long way! To donate, please click on the Donate button. Check with your company if they do Matching Donations/Volunteering hours. It will double up your donation.
2. Create a Fundraiser. Irrespective of how you wish to contribute, rest assured that your efforts will go a long way in providing much needed education, health care, shelter and renewed hope to a child. To create your own fundraiser, Click on the Fundraise button and follow the steps to create your own campaign page.
