Fundraising for Atlanta Dream Mile 2018

I have been associated with this amazing organization - Vibha (www.vibha.org) for a couple of years now. Many of you have have supported me in this journey with your enthisuasm in the work we do and with your contributions to this wonderful cause. Every year I raise money during this awesome event called Dream Mile where many run/walk a few miles for million smiles :)

 The funds go towards educational materials, vocational training, teacher training, setting up libraries, rehabilitation of differently-abled children, basic immunizations and in some cases the rescue of children from vulnerable situations. 
 
Over the past 25 years, Vibha has supported more than 300,000 children through its efforts. But 300,000 is a very tiny drop in a vast ocean. India has over 18 million street children and 22 million child laborers. Nearly 20% of 6-14 year olds have no access to education. Less than 45% receive immunizations. Half the children go without enough food everyday.
 
Just pause all your thoughts for a minute and imagine an India in which all children are healthy, have enough to eat and go to school. Yes, 300,000 over 25 years is a very tiny drop in the ocean. But we truly believe that if enough of us join hands together we can make take this tiny drop into a huge wave of change. Vibha educates, enables and empowers, individuals who wish to make a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged children. Since our inception in 1991, Vibha has supported more than 250 projects in India and 10 projects in the US. As a result, Vibha has been able to reach out to and provide opportunities for over 2.3 million underprivileged children. Currently, Vibha supports 15 projects in India and 3 projects in the US.
